Volunteering
Due to funding constraints, we currently employ only a few staff members. Nevertheless, the group continues to function effectively owing to the generous support of its six volunteers, who collaborate closely with the Board of Directors.
Volunteers Roles
Volunteers provide invaluable help with various tasks, including administration, delivery of courses and support activities, fundraising, individual service user support and promotion of NAMOW.
Mentors offer continuous assistance to users who have finished their support plans.
Volunteer with us
Namow Initiative strongly supports and encourages volunteering. We provide opportunities to help our service users and contribute towards our cause. There are various areas in which you can lend your support. Suppose you possess a passion for empowering BAME LGBTQ+ women to advocate for themselves or for them. We are currently looking for volunteers who can provide support in the following areas:
-Raising awareness of the plights BAME LGBTQ+ women seeking asylum go through to the public and influencing decision-making.
-Social media – content creation and management
-Fundraising.
-Psychological support at meetings and events.
-Any other skill(s) that would benefit the people we support.
